A “Quick Exit”
No one has mentioned that *something* has been on my website for over a year! No one told me!! But it’s there, and it needs recognition. Frankly, other family law firms need to follow suit.
On Every. Single. Page. of my website, there is a floating purple button in the lower right-hand corner called “Quick Exit.” It’s on this blog article. Click it and watch what happens.
It’s not perfect. The browser history is still there. There will always be a digital footprint. But whatever I can do to keep my clients and my potential clients safe—I will do. A “quick exit” is one small thing I can do to keep someone safe. I’ve met clients away from my office at various locations, had them put their phones in their cars, and arranged for sweeps of cars, houses, and phones for various tracking devices (tracking someone is illegal now, btw). Family law attorneys everywhere have done this. We understand. Now, I challenge my colleagues to adopt a “quick exit” button.
If you know, you know. A quick exit is a safe exit.
If you or someone you love is in an unsafe relationship, go to www.thehotline.org for resources. Make a plan to leave. Do nothing in haste. Consult an attorney. Proper preparation prevents poor performance. There are resources and groups that can help; several are linked on my Resources page. The first step is the hardest, but it doesn’t need to be alone.
Special thanks to Swash Labs for hearing this idea, taken from The Hotline website, and implementing it here. Y’all are amazing humans and even better designers/advertisers.
